TELE-MENTAL HEALTH SESSIONS: In the event that your session is scheduled to be Tele-mental Health, our software is HIPAA compliant and can be accessed via mobile phone, tablet, desktop or laptop.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of video and/or audio technologies to support long-distance services between providers and their clients.

​

Required Consent Form: 

  • You will be required to complete the Informed Consent for Tele-Mental Health / Videoconferencing form prior to your first session.

  • When completing the Telehealth Consent Form: You will be required to provide two nearby hospitals and their corresponding phone number. For your convenience, we have listed some hospitals in and around Rockwall:

How do I join our session via my phone/tablet?

It’s as easy as clicking the unique link shared by your provider via text message at the time of your appointment. There is no app to download. Just click the link, enable the audio/video, enter your name, and select 'Join'.

How do I join our session via my desktop/laptop?

Click on the link that is emailed directly to you, or proceed with the following alternative option:

  • Go to the client portal: Simple Practice to request a unique link that will be emailed directly to you.

  • Log into your existing account using your email address.

  • In the top left corner, click on Appointments to access your link.

  • Grant access to your microphone & camera

  • Enter in your preferred name

  • Select 'Join Video Appointment' (blue button)

Once the host (counselor) starts the session, then you will be able to join your Telehealth session.

What equipment do I need to join a session?

You will need the following to join a Telehealth (online therapy) session with your provider:

  • A computer, tablet, or phone (no applications or software download needed).

  • An external or integrated webcam.

  • An external or integrated microphone.

  • Shut down all background applications to ensure Telehealth receives the majority of your internet’s bandwidth, especially applications that use your camera.

Do I need a specific internet browser?

If you’re using a Desktop or Laptop, we recommend:

  • Google Chrome

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • Safari

We recommend the below if you’re using a mobile phone or tablet:

  • Android - Google Chrome

  • iOS (iPhone or iPad) - Safari

 

Does BCBS cover Telehealth? 

If you have benefits from BlueCross BlueShield for counseling, you will have benefit coverage for Telehealth.

Will our sessions be recorded?

No. TheraNest does not record or store the audio or video from Telehealth sessions.

 

Is Telehealth in TheraNest HIPAA compliant?

Yes. We take your data security seriously and encrypt all your information by HIPAA standards and are HIPAA compliant. Your data is continually and securely backed up. We use Amazon for Hardware and physical security because they are HIPAA compliant and have to follow many rules and that helps us with compliance.
